Nokia D1C Renders Leak: Multiple Color Options, Android 7.0 Nougat, Snapdragon 430 SoC And More : TECH : Tech Times
Rumors that Nokia has a smartphone dubbed the Nokia D1C in the pipeline have been swirling online since October when the alleged handset made appearances on benchmarking sites Geekbench and AnTuTu.
The Nokia D1C's renders have leaked, offering a peek into the handset's design and build, as well as some of its alleged features.
Multiple Color Options
The latest leak comes courtesy of a user on Weibo, which is the Chinese equivalent of Twitter. The smartphone's renders were spotted by the eagle-eyed folks at AndroidPure on Saturday, Nov. 6, who shared the images of the alleged smartphone.
"Today, we have spotted a set of new images which are the alleged renders of Nokia D1C, revealing the design and build of the device," notes the publication.
The leaked renders show off the smartphone in three hues: white, gold and black, suggesting that it will be available in multiple color options.
The renders also point to the possibility of the Nokia D1C having a fingerprint scanner. However, this feature is only visible on the gold variant of the smartphone and cannot be espied on the white and black options.
Design-wise, the Nokia D1C resembles the Lumia smartphones from the company and looks like it sports a metal body. The renders are in power off mode and so one can only see the physical navigation button on the bottom of the display. On the rear, you can see the primary camera - rumored to be a 13-megapixel one - with a LED flash in tow.
The side images of the handset show the volume button, power button and the SIM tray's placement.
Nokia D1C Running Android 7.0 Nougat Out Of The Box
This is not the first time rumors pertaining to the Nokia D1C have emerged. The handset was first spotted on Geekbench in early October with the Snapdragon 430 processor and Android 7.0 Nougat in tow.
A week later, we reported that the Nokia D1C had resurfaced, this time on the AnTuTu benchmarking site. This listing also revealed a 1080p display for the alleged handset and a 13-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel selfie snapper.
The benchmark post also reaffirmed the presence of Android 7.0 Nougat and the octa-core Snapdragon 430 processor. It also suggested that the handset would house 32 GB of storage, 3 GB of RAM and Adreno 505 GPU.
Nokia is set to be back with a bang with its line of smartphones in 2017, as the non-compete clause with Microsoft is finally set to expire at the end of 2016.
After a long hiatus, Nokia will finally not be debarred from producing any mobile devices under its brand name. For the unfamiliar, the non-compete clause when Microsoft purchased Nokia Devices & Services prohibited the Finland-based phone manufacturer from making new devices until the current quarter.
Judging by its specs, the Nokia D1C will not be the company's flagship smartphone and is anticipated to hit the shelves in the first half of 2017.
